She has a passion for working with children who are nonverbal to achieve effective communication through augmentative or alternative modalities (i.e. picture symbols, voice output devices, and high-tech touch screen communication devices). Her training in this area came from work experiences at Blue River Special Education Cooperative in Shelbyville, IN and Easter Seals Crossroads in Indianapolis, IN as well as numerous conferences, seminars, and workshops.
